Are the business license fees pro-rated?
Yes, the fees can be prorated on a quarterly basis, but not a monthly basis. We are on a fiscal year beginning July 1 and ending June 30 of the following year. If you were to start your business in August, you would still pay the full annual fee, whereas, if you started in October, you would only pay three quarters for the first year. This applies to all fees except gaming; these fees can be prorated monthly.
