Religious, Educational, or Non-Profit Exemption

Nevada Revised Statutes provides for a property tax exemption on property owned by a religious, educational or non-profit organization when that property is used solely for the organization's purpose. 

Applying for an Exemption

To apply for a property tax exemption, please call the Lyon County Assessor's office at (775) 463-6521, come by our office at 27 South Main St, Yerington, Nevada 89447.

The application cannot be processed until it is complete with all necessary documentation.  The deadline to file for property tax exemption is June 15 to be applicable for the following fiscal year lien date of July 1.
